Circular Sandflail Green Multicam
Circular Sandflail Green Multicam
The newest addition to the Sandflail family. The Circular Sandflail. Same great build, same great tool just in a new circular shape. The difference? Well apart from the aesthetic, it means they can hold more weight at similar filling heights compared to the original Sandflail shape. The circular shape means it can stand upright and fits really well in the hand for the various catching movements and sits well in the rack position (especially the Large size).
Dual Layer Military Cordura Construction, All seams double stitched with extremely strong military spec bonded nylon thread, water resistant, tear resistant, portable, extremely versatile.
LENGTH CHOICE: Comes in either Long length (which is same as the original standard Sandflail) or the new Shorty length. Check out the videos below for comparisons.
SIZES:
SMALL: Designed to be used one handed as a club/short mace style tool. I have wanted to create a shorter club style version for a long time and now it is here. I love club training and this one of my all time favourite tools. You can do Indian club style work when loaded light, load it up a bit and it feels like a heavier club or short mace (buluva), feels amazing! Being shorter it will also work for children/young athletes as a Sandflail starter tool. My 70 year old mum loves it for daily training to keep her self supple and strong. Great for shoulder health & flow work. A tool for any age and proficiency. I use one of these every single day as part of my daily practice.
MEDIUM: Designed to sit right in between the other two sizes. This one can do it all and is great for most people from beginner right through to advanced. Can be loaded up light or heavy depending on what you need for that session or to match your strength & skill level. Mace & club style swinging is excellent with this size, load up light for one handed or heavier for two hand work. You can do a lot of my hybrid kettlebell/club/Sandflail movements with this but if you’re more looking to only do kettlebell style work then you might want to look at the larger size. You can purchase the optional cork grip stopper/pommel if you want with this product (cork ball grip stopper coming soon).
LARGE: For circular training this one is a beast, for mace and club style swinging when loaded up heavy it’s best for experienced practitioners who are very familiar with mace and club swinging. You can still load it lighter and slowly progress but if you’re a beginner or never used a Sandflail before do not load this up heavy until your body and strength adjusts to the new stimulus. This will tax your grip much more than the others so start light and let your grip strength build up. For kettlebell style training this one is great as it’s close to the dimensions of a competition kettlebell. So when you put it in the rack position it will feel a bit familiar.
PRODUCT INFO: Double layer Military Spec Cordura (extremely durable) that I have chosen to provide the perfect thickness of grip and texture for most people. The Cordura is very abrasion, tear & water resistant . All seams are double stitched using extremely strong bonded nylon thread with the bottom seam being reinforced and extra stitched for durability. All Designed by myself & Handmade in Scotland by local Artisans. Only the best materials and craftsmen. The bungee Cord supplied is specially designed for yachting and provides the perfect stretch to strength ratio (trust me I tried them all). The rubber bands to tie off the opening of the Sandflail are industrial strength and very strong for there small size.
WHAT COMES IN EACH PACKAGE: You obviously get the Sandflail of your choosing. You get 2 x Bungee Cords - this is to tie off the Sandflail just above the filling to secure the load. I give you two as the circular shape is a little harder to keep the filling in place simply due to the different shape (puts more stress on the cord) so if you want to really secure it down so it doesn’t move/change shape during then session then you can use both bungee cords, tying one just above or even overlapping the other, you can still use one if you like but I usually use two. You get 2x rubber bands - these are to tie off the end/openeing of the Sandflail and to keep the new cork grip stopper/pommel in place if you decide to add that accessory. The second one is a spare. That’s it! It’s pretty simple and one of the most versatile tools on the market.
RECOMMEND FILLINGS: Obviously sand is the most used option, probably about 90% of the time I use play sand which is really inexpensive or you can go to a beach and get a bucket of it for free. Rice is great as it’s about half the weight of sand and can be fairly inexpensive. Crumb rubber/rubber mulch is great for speed work and is about a 3rd the weight of sand. If your feeling strong you can use steel shot….I have 16kg of steel shot I use occasionally and in a Sandflail it feels insanely heavy. But you can use anything that isn’t sharp….i have used bottles of water, fruit, dirt, pebbles, gravel, pea gravel (Pat McNamara likes to use pea gravel in his) you can get creative….a customer also likes to use weighted juggling balls so yeah use whatever suits you.
WARRANTY:
Two year sensible use manufacturer warranty. Do not slam these on the ground and excessive impact on hard surfaces is not covered in the warranty, it’s a material based product and even though it’s using the best material & thread any material based product will break or wear down over time if slammed or continually scraped on rough/hard surfaces. Normal drops are fine, I’ve never had one break on me.
For Delivery I usually ship out within 1-3 days of purchase. I have a very busy schedule and run this business by myself so I try to get all orders out ASAP but please allow up to 3 days for me to ship your items.
